Today I had to face a classroom full of blank stares and try to get them to talk about Sir Philip Sidney. That was followed by a class who refused to even answer yes/no questions. To combat this plague of apathy I decided to play this fun, little record. There's some talk that they were the first German punk band, but I can't tell you if this is true. I can tell you that it was includes a former member of Amon Duul II. And that'll seem pretty odd once you hear the direction taken here.

hey, great blog! killer jams!
ReplyDeletethought I should note... a few of the rar files seem to be broken - this one and the Birkin fail to open. could be me, but I've tried them both a few times now and they won't unrar.
I'm particularly curious about this one. Any chance of a re-up?
thanks!
Huh, I don't know what went wrong. But I ain't too great with the tech stuff. Let me see if I can figure it out. If not, I'll provide a new link from someone else. Thanks for pointing this out.
ReplyDeletethanks again! i posted on here but im not sure if it worked. nonetheless, your blog is fantastic and I love almost everything you post! keep up the great work!

Thanks DD, and you've got a pretty swell blog yourself.
ReplyDeleteI managed to get the first two tracks on the third attempt but no joy with the rest. I was half expecting Kirk Brandon's Pack when I saw the link listed on the blog archive so I was pleasantly surprised to find an Amon Duul related band instead, much as I like the British Pack. They certainly look more like an AD band than your stereotypical punk outfit but who wants stereotypes anyway? I'm certainly not au fait with much German punk, usually finding it sounds pretty generic, but I like the trashy sound of this. Would quite like to hear the whole album.
ReplyDeleteWhen I unPACKed (ha!) all album tracks came through fine, even though 3 error messages indicated otherwise. How very punk.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, something is wrong with the file. But it's good album and I hope it works.
